IP Address Architecture
For most small companies,
assigning 192.168.1.1 to your router and using the remaining
addresses for your computers will work most of the time. However
if you add or plan to add any of the following technologies,
that design will not scale:
- VoIP Phones
- Multiple Offices
- Remote Access
- Site-to-Site VPNs
- Point to Point Dedicated
circuits (i.e. T1, Frame Relay or MPLS)
- Multiple Internet
Connections
- E-mail or Website hosting
Good network planning can allow
for smooth transitions and growth in your company. If your
company is more than 10 people and growing, you will likely be
implementing at least one or more of the technologies list above
soon.
Not only can DHK help you
design your IP infrastructure to incorporate all of the
technologies listed above, we implement all of them on our
corporate network. Our staff have created the central IP address
architecture for nationwide and international companies. We have
worked on networks with up to 50,000 connected devices in 16
countires.

Switch Infrastructure
Some LANs are small enough to be
contained within one 24 or 48 port switch. What do you do when
you have more than 48 devices? How do you interconnect hundreds
or thousands of computers in a single building or campus?
We have been there and done
that. From thousand person call center networks to
multi-building campuses to environmentally controlled data
centers, we have put the switch infrastructure in place to keep
them running.
When your company is growing,
we can help you select and install the best switch technology
for the short and long term plans for your LANs.

WAN Design
Wide Area Networks are used in
companies that need to permanently connect multiple physical
offices or locations on the same data network. If the data needs
are low-bandwidth or intermittent, sometimes a IPSec or SSL VPN
will suffice.
As the bandwidth and
connectivity requirements increase, you will probably be
thinking about T1, T3, Frame-Relay, MPLS, datacenters, and even
more network technology. In all of these cases it will be
important to think about capital expenses in addition to monthly
costs. All of these technologies will have a significant impact
on your budget. We have vast experience in network and equipment
selection in addition to assisting with the budgeting process.
